‘Giant ad’
The Go back movie has been commonly criticised for unable to function some of the website’s top artists, such as Logan John and PewDiePie, and for neglecting important web-culture activities.PewDiePie, also known as Felix Kjellberg, signed up with the refrain of critique in videos saying Go back presented too much of the Fortnite activity and too few YouTubers.

Prominent YouTuber Marques Brownlee said Go back had been a “big celebration” of YouTubers and the greatest activities that had occurred on the website in a particular season.

“It became an honor to be a part of Go back,” said Mr Brownlee.

But now, he said, YouTube saw Go back as a way to “showcase all the best items that happens on YouTube for advertisers”.

Instead of honouring makers, said Mr Brownlee, it was now a record of “advertiser-friendly” material.

“Rewind has converted into a massive ad for YouTube,” he said.
